DNJ Intermodal Services Continues Diversity
(Channahon, IL) DNJ Intermodal Services is a transportation company whose main business is the movement of import and export containers that arrive on the trains from thousands of ports every year. It is no surprise that a very good majority of these containers are loaded with all kinds of consumer and manufactured goods from China.
With growth continuing to trend upwards, DNJ is proud to announce the hiring of Dongwei Wu, a dispatcher who is fluent in both Mandarin & Cantonese as well as English. Mr. Wu will be responsible to grow DNJ’s Chinese driver base. “Mr. Wu is an excellent addition to our team” said David McGarvey, VP of Strategy and Development for DNJ. “He has his CDL license so he can relate to the driver’s experience, he has worked in a warehouse so he understands our customer needs at the delivery locations and he has many years working with remote technical support. A key trait for any dispatcher is to be able to handle issues remotely because you are not in the truck with the driver”. Matthew Freix, Regional VP for DNJ added,”Mr. Wu will be incredibly helpful to introduce DNJ as an excellent career option for Chinese Owner Operator truck drivers who wish to enter the lucrative container delivery business. Those drivers will be very pleased with DNJ’s very clear statements and market leading customer base.”
DNJ has over 300 trucks with 5 terminals in Chicago, IL, Kansas City, KS, Minneapolis, MN, St. Louis, MO and Indianapolis, IN. The diversity and backgrounds of their employees is witnessed every day in their terminals. As of 2020, DNJ employees and drivers include first generation immigrants from 23 countries!
